Art Project (Salt Lake)

[Figure 1 - A simplified and creative representation, based on historical documents, of the original topography of the place of the Salt Lake, Sand Dune and Pebble Beach on the coast of Santa Monica Bay in Southern California. Notice the Sand Dune feature for instance which existed west of and immediately adjacent to the Salt Lake. This dune was 20 to 38 feet in height spanning the length of the lake. Also shown in the figure are the two vernal pools to the south of the lake. The most southerly pool was fresh water. One of the finest pebble beaches on the Pacific Coast existed right there.
